MATE in 3 Summers Program

A program that students nationwide or worldwide can complete by coming to campus (possibly living on campus) two or three summers in a row, attending classes as a full-time student predominantly during the second six-week summer session (usually beginning in the end of June and lasting through the month of July), and completing two course requirements at their home sites.

NEW--several classes are now offered online! These courses begin  mid-May and conclude mid-July.

 
Proposed Format of the Summer Program:
 
Summer 1 
Choose three courses from:     

(3) DR 509 Drama in Education, Part II    (ONLINE course)
(3) DR 542 Design Applications
(3) DR 603 Western Theatre and Culture I
(3) EDUC 525 Psychology of Learning - Diverse Populations

 
Summer 2
Choose three courses from:      

(3) DR 526 Teaching Theatre
(3) DR 651 Directing
(3) DR 545 Production Design and Management
(3) EDUC 582 Reading in the Content Areas

 
Academic Year following Summer 2
(3) DR 931 Field Studies in Theatre Education—designed and delivered by students at their home sites; supervised long distance
 
Summer 3
Choose three courses from:

(3) DR 507 Drama in Education, Part I     (ONLINE course)
(3) DR 524 Acting/Directing Workshop
(3) DR 542 Design Applications
(3) DR 603 Western Theatre and Culture I
(3) EDUC 525 Psychology of Learning - Diverse Populations

 
Academic Year following Summer 3
(3) DR 951 Supervised Project—monitored and documented via Distance Learning, if necessary, plus Comprehensive Exams
